Allied Insurance Managers history dates back to 1912. Then called Beaver Realty, the company got its start in the famous Penobscot building in Detroit, Mich. After 75 years of success, a group of young underwriters made a decision to develop a new type of independent insurance agency.
Brought together with a common goal, Ronald Kosmal, Paul Murad, John Kelsey and Dave Thurau opened the Allied Insurance Managers office in May of 1987, in Troy, Mich. Seven years later, a new office was developed in Rochester Hills, Mich. to accommodate the growing business.
In 2010, Jayson Bass would become a partner tasked with continuing Allied’s growth. In January of 2018, the agency was successfully transitioned to five like-minded owners. Remaining privately owned has become a key competitive advantage when the industry has experienced consolidation and reorganization.
